The Exotic Shorthair cat breed offers an ideal blend between the American shorthair breed and the Persian cat which evolved in the early 1960’s. Later some reputable feline breeders bred the Burmese cats and the Russian Blue cat breed to continue the shorthair gene yet striving to maintain the highly sought-after Persian cat traits such as the flat round face, coat quality that is described as soft, silky and luxurious coats and the ever so sweet personalities that Persians possess!
Exotic Shorthair Personalities and Traits: The Exotic Shorthair are active and can be independent yet possessing a sweet nature about them originating from the Persian cat breed!  They are affectionate and form strong bonds with humans.  They can be entertaining, playful and are extremely smart!  

Exotic Shorthair Care:
Are known as easy keepers, with very little assistance with grooming compared to other breeds. Of course, all cats are individuals and so careful observing their needs throughout development.  Generally, they are much loved as they are so easy to care for!
